This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers releases today, June 19, from St. Martin's Griffin. You can buy it from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or IndieBoundIt’s the end of the world. Six students have taken cover in Cortege High but shelter is little comfort when the dead outside won’t stop pounding on the doors. One bite is all it takes to kill a person and bring them back as a monstrous version of their former self. To Sloane Price, that doesn’t sound so bad. Six months ago, her world collapsed and since then, she’s failed to find a reason to keep going. Now seems like the perfect time to give up. As Sloane eagerly waits for the barricades to fall, she’s forced to witness the apocalypse through the eyes of five people who actually want to live. But as the days crawl by, the motivations for survival change in startling ways and soon the group’s fate is determined less and less by what’s happening outside and more and more by the unpredictable and violent bids for life—and death—inside. When everything is gone, what do you hold on to?
"This Is Not A Test is about so much more than making it out alive." --Julie Cross author of the Tempest Series

"This Is Not A Test by Courtney Summers is an accelerating action/drama book. It is about six teens that take shelter in a high school, which is surrounded by flesh eating zombies. One teen in particular Sloane Price who cannot wait for the zombies to break in and end her life completely, unlike the other five who are fighting for their lives. Before I even opened the book I thought “oh another zombie based story, been there seen that” but boy was I wrong. Throughout the whole book I was on the edge of my seat thinking, “what’s going to happen next? I have to keep reading”. I found the whole storyline clever and something I have never seen done before. It has a lot of twists and turns that change all of their lives completely in a shocking way. Don’t expect this book to be like any zombie book or movie you’ve seen to date, this shows you just how raw and brutal the end of world can change people in ways you’ve never expected possible. Overall I absolutely loved this book and the characters in it. I recommend this book to everyone; it’s just that good. Thank you for an awesome read Courtney. I hope you make a second installment in this series. Keep up the great work."
Other thoughts from the Perfect 10:
P100: The characters in this book are so flawed, so real, that it makes me love the story even more.
P145: I don't know what to say. Truly. I'm speechless. It's so tragic and heartbreaking but so tragically hopeful at the same time. I've never read a book quite like this before.

pg. 100. No Sloane! This is getting way too intense! Rhys run, Sloane run! GRAHHH! EVERYONE RUN AWAY!
pg. 150. It’s a blank page, but for everything that just followed the end of the chapter, I just can’t stop reading. The intensity fails to diminish. Love it.
pg. 200. Even though Cary is so messed up, so flawed, I can’t help but feel and adore his character.
pg. 250. Poor Rhys. Now that they’re leaving, will Sloane find Lily?
pg. 300. No, I don’t want this book to end. The intensity, the intensity! Please don’t end! Ah, the pages draw near. *sad face*
