DEFINITION OF A YA HOME RUN AUTHOR: (I made this term up, btw) A YA author who you've read at least 4 books from and loved at least 4 books. Get it? Home Run...it means tagging 4 bases...and sometimes has nothing to do with baseball...lol.
Sometimes readers go in search of a new author, not just a new favorite book and I think these suggestions will be quite helpful to those readers.
So here are the Perfect 10 and guest members Home Run Authors:

JULIE'S TOP 5 YA HOME RUN AUTHORS
Favorite 4 Titles: How To Ruin Your Boyfriend's Reputation, Leaving Paradise, How To Ruin Your Summer Vacation, Perfect Chemistry
JULIE'S THOUGHTS: The how to ruin series is just fun and fall over funny. Perfect Chemistry has humor and emotion but all Simone's books are realistic teen fiction and have very unique elements of diversity for the YA genre and I just love reading her work.
Favorite 4 Titles: Cracked Up To Be, Some Girls Are, Fall For Anything, This Is Not A Test.
JULIE'S THOUGHTS: Courtney Summers is one of my favorite YA authors...her books are so raw and honest and the voice just radiates off the page. Except for This Is Not A Test, her novels are contemporary, realistic teen fiction. However her zombie novel has the feel of a contemporary and that makes it even more creepy and awesome.
Favorite 4 Titles: Tangled, The Future Of Us, Vegan Virgin Valentine, The Earth My Butt and Other Big Round Things
JULIE'S THOUGHTS: Carolyn Mackler has a brilliant way of taking an ordinary teenage experience and making it dramatic, unique and important. Her voice is always spot on, the dialogue is probably the best part and I'm always laughing while reading her books yet they are full of emotion. I just love following her characters and seeing where the story takes them.
JULIE'S THOUGHTS: The Between The Lines Series is so much fun because it revolves around teen movie star characters and a few up and coming stars and then some ordinary people thrown into the mix. Easy is the book I think every older teen should read. It's important and very informative as well as uplifting. After reading Tammara's first book well over a year ago, I can now just sit back and relax, knowing she's going to take the characters and story to a place I'll be satisfied with. I also love YA books that boarder that "New Adult" line and all her books fit into this category.
Favorite 4 Titles: The Fault In Our Stars, Paper Towns, Looking For Alaska, An Abundance Of Katherines
JULIE'S THOUGHTS: John Green writes intelligent quirky characters that get themselves into some very odd situations and have incredibly unique perspectives on life and yet they tackle, within the pages of each story, all of the unavoidable elements of adolescents proving that there's no way around being a teenager, the only path is straight through it.
